Paying your bills on Forwardly comes with extra security and control. As an admin or advisor, you can decide how much permission is needed for different types of expenses. If a payment request is too high, it has to go through a more careful review and get special approval. Setting up approval settings is easy and takes only minutes.
- On the sidebar, click Business Settings.
- Go to Payment Approvals.
- Click Add New Threshold.
- Set the amount you want the threshold limit to exist for less than.
- Set the number of approvals you want to be required for the payment limit.
- (Optional) Select eligible approvers out of the existing business users.
- Click Save.
Warning: Business users with Admin or Advisor permissions can override the approval process and initiate payment without the approval of selected approvers, no matter what threshold limits are in place. |
Why can't I add a user as a payment approver?
You cannot add the same approver for an upper limit if they are already selected as an approver for a lower payment limit. Approvers for a lower payment limit can approve payments for lower limits.
Approval Example in Practice
Threshold limit one: $500 - 1 approval required - Taylor is a selected approver.
Threshold limit two: $15,000 - 2 approvals required - Justine and Marco are selected approvers.
Threshold limit three: $50,000 - 3 approvals required - Kyra, Justine, and Marco are selected approvers.
Payments under $500 don't need to be approved. However, if Megan wants to put through a payment of $2,500, then she'll need either Taylor, Marco, or Justine to approve. If Taylor wants to put through a payment of $10,000, then she'll need both Justine and Marco to approve the payment. Kyra, as a business user with the Advisor permission level, can put through payments for any amount without any approvals.
