In some limited cases, you may be required to provide additional information to confirm your identity. For instance, a selfie while holding a document that was used for verification. Only submit a selfie if directed to do so by our team.
Here's how we recommend you take a photo of yourself for this verification step.
Acceptable documentation
When we request you confirm your identity, we'll ask you to take a face photo with your identification. This is usually a Drivers License, ID card, or passport.
An ideal selfie with documentation
An ideal selfie taken with documentation is taken in a well-lit place with a neutral-colored background. Your face should be clearly visible and looking straight at the camera with no accessories such as hats or sunglasses. The ID should not be covering any part of your face. All text on the document should be clear and visible, not mirrored in any way.
Do not wear accessories for your selfie
Do not take your selfie in poor lighting
Do not take a photo of only part of your face
Do not cover your face with the identification document
Do not submit a photo that isn't in color
Do not submit a photo that has been flipped or mirrored
Submitting your selfie
Once you've taken your verification selfie, you can submit it by logging in. We only accept files in PNG, JPG, or PDF format, and at a maximum of 10MB. The ID must not be expired.
