How to connect with your accounting firm's clients on Forwardly
To connect your client’s business with your accounting firm, you can either join a client that already exists on Forwardly or onboard (set up) their business on Forwardly on their behalf.
How to connect with a client who already uses Forwardly
If your client already uses Forwardly and has already verified their business, you can easily send them an invite to connect with them.
- In the left-hand navigation bar, open the Clients area.
- Click Add a Client.
- Select Join an Existing Client and click Next.
- Search for their business name.
- If the business does not appear in the search, you can invite them by entering their business name and email address and sending a one-click invite to connect with them on Forwardly.
- If the business appears in the search, select it and add its Tax ID.
- Select Request Now to verify the submitted information. If the tax information is correct, it will ask your client to confirm your firm's access to their business on Forwardly.
How to add a client's business on Forwardly
- In the left-hand navigation bar, click Clients.
- Select Set up a New Client and click Next.
- Enter their business name, email address, and estimated monthly payment volume.
- Connect the business's accounting software (optional).
- Connect the business's bank accounts (optional).
- If you have your client's business information ready, you can begin to verify the business for payments immediately or choose to skip it for now.
Once your client accepts your connection request, their business will appear in your Active Clients list. Via your Active Clients list, you can quickly assign access to team members and set a preferred name for the business to help distinguish it in your client list. This preferred name is only visible to your firm's team members who have been given access to that business.
Any pending requests for your firm will be shown under Invitations.
How to disconnect a client from your firm
If you ever need to disconnect a client from your accounting firm on Forwardly, it's simple to remove the connection from your client dashboard. Disconnecting will remove your entire team's access to the business.

- Select the dots on the right-hand side of the business to open the Options menu.
