Forwardly allows you to choose different preferred payment speeds for your Auto Payments, depending on your business’s eligibility and setup. This makes it easy to balance cost, timing, and cash flow needs for recurring or scheduled payments.
| Reminder: Some payment speeds are only available based on eligibility and bank support. Not all options are available for every business or every payment, and some payments may take longer if they are flagged by our fraud and risk monitoring system for additional review. |
If you want payments to arrive faster or want to switch to a slower option to reduce transaction fees, you can update your preferred payment speed directly from the client's Auto Payment settings. Changes apply going forward and help ensure your payments continue to run on the schedule and speed that works best for your business.
- Open up your verified business.
- On the left-hand navigation bar, click on Get Paid and then Customers.
- Find and mouse over the customer you would like to request automatic payments from, then click View.
- Click on the Auto Payments tab.
- Select Payment Speed and choose the new preferred payment speed you'd like for that client.
- Click Save.

Once you’ve updated the preferred payment speed, future Auto Payments will use the new delivery speed for all future payments for that client. Already scheduled or processing payments for that client will not change delivery speed.
| Warning: If you have any auto payments already scheduled or processing, keep in mind that their speed cannot be changed and will continue using the original settings. If you need to update the speed of a scheduled payment, you will need to cancel the scheduled payment in Forwardly and then resend the request. If the client has approved Auto Payments, then the payment request will automatically be scheduled. |

Why was my Auto Payment speed different from the speed I selected?
When you select a faster payment speed like Same Day or Next Day for an Auto Payment, that setting represents your preferred delivery speed, not a guaranteed arrival time. All payments on Forwardly are automatically reviewed by our fraud and risk monitoring systems, and each transaction is evaluated individually based on its own compliance and security profile.
If a payment requires additional review, it may be processed at a slower speed. When this happens, the payment may take longer to arrive and may also be processed at a lower cost than the originally selected speed.
