Your primary account on the Fowardly platform is the account where all incoming funds are credited, and payments are made.
All non-primary bank accounts have the ability to send money, but you can easily switch different bank accounts to the primary role to accept deposits into the account. This allows flexibility, such as switching to an account with surplus funds for making payments or retaining an account with low funds as primary while receiving payments.
How do I mark an account as my primary bank account?
During the bank account connection process, you will need to select an account to be your primary payment account. This account will be visible when you initiate a payment (sending or receiving). If you need to change your primary account, you can easily switch the role to another bank account:
- On the sidebar, click Business Settings.
- Go to Payment Methods and then Bank Accounts.
- On the connected account list, find the account that you would like to set as your new Primary account.
- Click on Mark as Primary beside that account.
What will happen if none of my bank accounts are marked as a primary account?
When you connect banking information, you will be prompted to select a bank account as primary from the get-go. You cannot deselect an account as primary; your choices are to mark another account as your primary bank account, or (if you have no additional account) disconnect your banking from Forwardly.
If I add multiple bank accounts, which bank account will receive my invoice payments?
Your Primary account is the account where incoming funds are delivered and from where payments are made unless you change the bank account while making a payment. Your Forwardly account can have as many bank accounts as you want. However, only one account can be marked as Primary. It should be thought of as the default account for all your incoming and outgoing payments.
Tip: You can always change the bank account when making a payment if there are insufficient funds in the primary bank account. |
