Forwardly helps people who manage, audit, or analyze finances companies easily add and connect to their accounting software. Connecting a business is easy as long as the business has its accounting data on any of our supported accounting systems.
When you create an account, you will automatically be prompted to add a business before continuing.
- Select your accounting platform.
- Authenticate your connection by logging in to your accounting provider.
- Select the business you would like to add from your imported business list.
- Follow the prompts to allow Forwardly access to your business's data.
- Verify your business details, including information on the location information such as Physical and Mailing address.
- If you're adding a US business: you will need to give details on the business's beneficial owners. You can add up to four owners per business. All beneficial owners with 25% or more ownership will be prompted to create their own Forwardly accounts.
- The system will prompt you to link a bank account with Forwardly. We use Plaid to connect securely with your business's banking data.
- Authenticate and authorize Forwardly's access to your bank account with your verified business email and/or mobile number.
Reminder: Only US businesses can access the Payments module. |

Yes, absolutely. The process of adding a second (or fiftieth!) business is the same as adding your first business.
Can I disconnect a business's accounting software from Forwardly?
Sometimes it may be necessary to disconnect a business's accounting connection if the business in question switches its accounting software.
- Navigate to the Business List and find the business you would like to disconnect.
- Click on Disconnect.
- You will see a popup warning; if you would still like to disconnect the business, click on Disconnect.
Tip: Disconnecting a business from Forwardly will only sever the accounting connection. If you want to delete a business entirely, you'll need to submit a ticket. |
Can I reconnect a business after disconnecting it from Forwardly?
Yes, you absolutely can add a business back after disconnecting it from the Forwardly system. You can always press the business's Reconnect button on the Business List to reestablish the accounting connection.
Why do I have to reconnect businesses sometimes?
To keep your accounts secure, Forwardly's access to your accounting data is temporary. This means that Forwardly's access to your accounting software may expire, and you'll need to reconnect your business to restore access. This shouldn't take more than a few seconds.
